The first day of school...

And I'm at home! It feels awfully strange not experiencing the first day back this year...as that is all I have known for the past 22 years of my life. Every year it's been "back to school" in some form. I did ask Peyton if he was ready for school but he assured me he is content staying at home for a few more weeks...then we can start the math flashcards!

Peyton had his 6 week checkup yesterday (though he is 7 weeks old). I wasn't really too stressed about it as he has made huge strides the past few weeks in terms of being content. Unfortunately the drive set him off and there was no turning back. Those at the clinic got free admission to Peyton's concert. They were all treated to at least 20 minutes of screaming. It stressed me at the time but afterwards I decided I can view the experience 2 ways. I can dwell, stress, and worry about how annoyed those around him must have been OR I can be thankful that he has a voice to share and that we walked out of the office with confirmation from the doctor that we have a strong, healthy and growing little boy. I choose the latter.

Though are outings still provide plenty of challenges, life at home is great. The little guy continues to surprise use every day with all that he has learned. As of late his favorite toy is a blanket. We cover him up and he kicks it off. He also likes his new kicker. While it provides a good leg workout it also seems to aide in digestion. He spends long stretches in his crib watching the mobile, looking around, and singing to himself.

I am sure next week I'll be sitting here thinking about how many more things changed in just a weeks time. The joys!!
